The Westpac Bank Commercial Team managed to raise over $7,000 and have this matched by their banks matching gifts program that has been in place for many years. This is mostly due to the efforts of Gerrit Horchner to rally and get the entire Victorian team behind him in his endeavours to raise as many funds as he could for the Cooper Trewin Memorial SUDC Research Fund.

The matching gift of over $7,000 was received today from Westpac which is an amazing result for the Commercial Victorian Team led by Gerrit Horchner and his State Manager at the time Michael Ehrentraut. Michael has since moved onto another role with Westpac however it is noted that in an email Gerrit’s new manager has indicated that they would like to raise even more funds this year for the fund.

“I have never been more passionate about a cause and the tragedy that my good friend Robert and his family have gone through is unfair” Gerrit said

“I have known Robert since we worked together at the Olympics with Westpac, being an ex employee and such a great cause in unselfishly trying to prevent this happening to another family I was able to rally everybody into action” Gerrit said.

“If I and Westpac have played a small part in one day preventing this from happening to another family then I will be very happy and I wish Rob and Kylie all the best in getting this research established” Gerrit said.
